From the Archives: Popular Kids’ Chocolate Ghost Recipe by Martha Stewart

Tip: Freehanding the ghost shape might be difficult for little ones. Draw the ghost shape on the waxed paper and let them fill the outline with melted chocolate.

What you need

  • Heatproof bowl
  • Waxed paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Lollipop sticks

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces of white chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Mini chocolate chips

Instructions on how to make chocolate ghosts from the Fall 2003 archives of the Martha Stewart Kids Magazine:

  1. Melt 12 ounces of white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring occasionally
  2. Remove bowl from heat; mix in 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  3. Drop 1 tablespoon of mixture onto waxed paper on a baking sheet; use the back of a teaspoon to quickly spread into a ghost shape
  4. Place a lollipop stick at the base, spinning it to coat
  5. Add mini chocolate chips for eyes
  6. Refrigerate ghosts for 5 minutes, then peel off waxed paper
