Crazy Costumes = Developing Brains – Lauren’s Learning Lab

In this episode of Lauren’s Learning Lab, mom, architect and teacher, Lauren Magee shares the benefits of pretend play for her 3-year-old, 7-year-old, and 9-year-old. From sharing stories with stuffed animals, to dressing up in costumes, dramatic play is a natural way for children to explore the world and complex ideas that they might not have the vocabulary to express. Especially now, during these unprecedented times while children are home indefinitely, imaginative play becomes a necessary outlet for them as they explore big emotions in safe ways.
