Blocks: Play with Toys the Natural Way – Lauren’s Learning Lab, Featuring Dr. Carla Horwitz
In this episode of Lauren’s Learning Lab, mom, architect and teacher, Lauren Magee is joined by Carla Horwitz MS, Dip. Ed, Ed. D and Child Study Center Faculty at Yale University, to discuss why wooden Unit Blocks are the most elemental, essential toy for young children. Naturally colored, neutral wooden blocks provide an opportunity for Lauren’s 3-year-old, 7-year-old and 9-year-old, as well as all young children, to explore open-ended play, problem solve, learn mathematic principals and physical relationships, and take part in hands-on learning as they construct, deconstruct and reconstruct their creations. See why Lauren and Carla believe that blocks are the best toy for children to play with as they develop and grow.
